While waiting for the movie to start yesterday, we went to Starbucks to have our short break. Yeevon took a newspaper to read and she spotted this “Magic Eye” illusion image and she asked me whether I can see the image or not.

I’m actually good at this. I forgotten where I’ve learnt from but for me it’s easy. “Magic eye” illusion is actually an autostereogram (single-image stereogram) designed to trick the human brain into perceiving a three-dimensional (3D) scene in a two-dimensional image. Source from Wikipedia.

So how to see the image? Some says by making you eyes a bit sleep then you can see. Here is the way to see the image. Source from Magic Eye.

Magic Eye images may be easier to see if viewed on paper rather than a computer screen. If possible, print this image and follow the instructions below. (You don’t need to print in color.)

Hold the center of the printed image right up to your nose. It should be blurry. Focus as though you are looking through the image into the distance. Very slowly move the image away from your face until the two squares above the image turn into three squares. If you see four squares, move the image farther away from your face until you see three squares. If you see one or two squares, start over!
When you clearly see three squares, hold the page still, and the hidden image will magically appear. Once you perceive the hidden image and depth, you can look around the entire 3D image. The longer you look, the clearer the illusion becomes. The farther away you hold the page, the deeper it becomes.

So you manage to see the image? The image should look like this.

For me, I did not use that method though it is better. 1 thing I don’t like about that method is you need to move the paper back and front or if you are using computer to see, I don’t want to look like an idiot moving my head front and back of the screen .

What I do is I just diverge my eyes or in Cantonese “dao gai ngan” . Here are some images which is easy to see.
