How Good Is Your Lifestyle Compared With Mine? - My Simple Life Diary

Hey there, welcome to my diary.

It’s been more than 2 weeks I ordered the Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon. What is this? This is actually an operating system like Windows but is based on Linux. And most importantly it is FREE !!!
. But as you can see below, you will need to wait 4-6 weeks for the CD to arrive.
I ordered 2 incase anyone wants it. Since it’s free, why not? I felt like becoming a distributor
. Nah, I’m not greedy. Just 1 for me, and another one give it to those who wants it. Just leave ur names on the comment box and we shall meet
.
A little bit of the “sneak preview”. I think this OS has been out quite long if I’m not mistaken. See, I’m a low tech guy
.
See how cool the effect is
. Actually it’s main competitor now is the Apple’s Mac OS X Leopard. Both graffics are cool. Ofcourse 1 is free and 1 is not. I’m not going into details, I just want to share this free stuff to everyone out there.
Actually I’m not sure if I ordered the correct one as another website at Xubuntu says that they wont be shipping out free CDs as they are lack of fundings. And now I’m not sure what is the difference between Ubuntu and Zubuntu interms of their OS. All I know both running different platform. But I hope to have the same results just like the video

I ordered my copy of Ubuntu about 2 weeks ago too, about the same time as you. I ordered the normal 32bit version and the 64bit version. I downloaded the ISO for the 32bit version but I prefer to get the actual original CD. Better huh? I hope to get the CDs soon.
You also could have downloaded Ubuntu directly instead of waiting for the CD to arrive. And the difference between Ubuntu and Xubuntu is mainly that Ubuntu uses gnome and Xubuntu uses xface, basically the same thing but xface works better with older hardware. Theres many more that are like Ubuntu but either comes with things already installed or optimized for a specific purpose, still Ubuntu on the backbone.

Hope they know where is my house

Yeah, since there wont be having free CDs, I might want to download the Xubuntu version.
Thanks for visiting

Actually..Ubuntu is the 1 which runs on gnome, kubuntu on kde..basically..same thing platform isnt really the right word..take it as ..diff UI..the looks is diff..which is the most obvious..ofcourse got some minor diff as well.sofware compatability and also the about of juice it needs to run those desktop enviroment. The vid that you posted is compiz fusion which is an eye candy add on to the OS. i currently have it running on my pc too. but not the mac style.
check out my blog if you have some interest in my review. welcome to linux
Ohh, means both Ubuntu and Xubuntu’s UI will be diff? Which will be better then? :p Mind sharing?
[...] thought it would never arrive. Took them so long. I’ve been waited for so long for this to arrive. They wrapped up with those plastic with those air bubbles in it (I forgotten what does it call ). [...]
