How Good Is Your Lifestyle Compared With Mine? - My Simple Life Diary
I’ve been busy lately. The only time I’m free now will be morning. I’ve just enough time for me to prepare myself and then back to hospital.
Physiotherapist had started training my dad to walk. A little weak (maybe because my dad had been on the bed almost everyday) but it’s a very good news to hear. The left arm now were getting more active that he now uses the left hand to pull the tubes. It’s a good thing but it’s bad if he wants to pull those tubes. Looks my dad really recovering.
Doctors and even the physiotherapists said that my dad could go back home if we wanted to. But still, we planned to let my dad stay in hospital for treatments as we can’t take care of my dad ourself. Like what I’ve said on the previous post on the 3rd paragraph, we decided to let my dad stay in hospital till they remove all the tubes from the body first.
My dad still coughed last night but not as serious as before. My dad slept almost a day the day before yesterday. The X-ray scan result shows nothing bad happen or affected. Once the tracheostomy tube was placed, the phlegm will always be building inside the lungs.
After fetch my mom to hospital, me and Yeevon went to KLCC to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s not as special as what I wanted it to be but it’s just a simple but yet a very happy Valentine’s Day. Will be posting more about it if I have the time. I told my dad about it and my dad looked for my mom. When my mom hold his hand, my dad smiled to my mom. It’s the first time I see my dad smile without us asking to.
I’m very happy that my dad is recovering. I’m very happy that my dad did not give up. Thought he may be pulling those tubes, it’s just uncomfortable, not because he’s giving up. I know my dad well, he’s not that kind of person who gives up easily. May God bless my dad and to everyone who has been very supportive. Thank you and peace out.
My dad coughed badly these few days and alot of hiccups too. Later they will bring my dad for X-ray scanning to scan the chest. Every day the nurses will use nebulizer to liquefy (not sure if there’s such a word) the phlegms together with inhalers. It’s good to make the phlegms more “liquid-ish”, but it will make my dad cough even more.
From the previous entry I said that they will remove all the tubes from my dad. What happen was that my dad can’t pass out urine by himself. So they will have to put the tube back. And as for the tracheostomy tube, my dad’s throat was swollen. And my dad’s breathing was still very depending on the tube.
The doctor even said that my dad can go back home already but we have to learn how to take care of my dad like feeding, clean the tubes, some basic physiotherapy and so on. Every morning I will have to send my dad to a physiotherapy center near Assunta Hospital. My mom said that she can’t take care of my dad alone as she herself had diabetes since I was born. So we decided to let my dad stay in hospital till they remove all the tubes from the body first.
As I’ve been staying overnight in the hospital with my dad, I’ll have a tiring day as I have to fetch my mom to hospital in the afternoon. Then I will fetch my mom back home at night and come back to hospital to accompany my dad. I really do not know how. I just feel unsafe for my mom to stay at home alone. But my mom asked me to stay with my dad.
I’m preparing to go now. For all the readers, thank you for all your support. Thought I may not know you, I’m glad that I have supportive strangers who will turn to be my friend. Hope Nuffnang will deliver the check as soon as possible. God bless and peace out.
Seen a doctor today and he said that they will try remove the nephrostomy tube (tube for urination) if I’m not mistaken the name. And waiting for another doctor to come, she will check my dad’s throat and maybe, they will remove the tracheostomy tube too.
Yesterday my dad could not get a good night rest as he got hiccups and causes more cough. We thought it was just a normal cough so we asked the nurses to suck out the phlegms. Sucking for 2 times and still coughing. So they gave my dad some cough medicine and also a jab of medicine to control hiccups (the medicine is actually for people who wants to vomit but it also helps to prevent hiccups). After around 3am in the morning, my dad could sleep well.
Came back home early today because I’ll be helping my dad to pay off all the credit card debts. Still have 2 of the 5 bank statements which I have not done yet. It is alot of money we have to pay as my dad bought alot of things before the Chinese New Year like our clothings, some exercise equipment (because I’m fat and lazy) and some “monthly-installment-thingy” which we need to pay monthly.
Will be going to have my breakfast now with Yeevon. She had been my “bored-removal” ever since I’m staying overnight in hospital with my dad. My mom had already eaten her breakfast with my relatives at home. God bless and peace out.
My dad was still very uncomfortable with the feeding tube, the tube for urine and the tracheostomy tube. He tried to pull them and successfully he did (again). And today I could see my dad wasn’t sleeping properly as his body were going to fall off the bed. Luckily there was a rail bar on the side of the bed. My dad’s right arm was tied to the side rail bar so that my dad wouldn’t pull the tubes. My dad was very smart that he could positioned himself so that his hand could reach the tube.
Doctor told me that another doctor who did the tracheostomy will be checking my dad’s throat tomorrow and then if everything is ok, they will remove the tube from the throat and then followed by the removal of feeding tube. My dad could swallow 3 spoonful of porridge but after the 4th spoon my dad had enough. Maybe he’s just tired or the pain is still there on his throat after the tracheostomy surgery.
My dad is still on a medication which makes the blood “thinner” so that it won’t cause another blood clot inside the blood vessels. Also a medication to control his phlegms’ thickness. My dad’s phlegms were getting lesser. Usually my dad would coughed alot due to the phlegms built inside the lungs.
Every year during Chinese New Year, my dad will drive back to his hometown together with some relatives. My dad will always be the driver and I sit beside my dad helping my dad to observe the signboards. That’s how active my dad was even at his age of 60s. My dad’s age is 69 this year. Even nurses said that my dad looks more like age of 50s.
I will be going off soon to visit my dad. I did not sleep well in the hospital, waking up once my dad coughed but I’m still fine. Anyway, thanks for reading and supporting. Have a wonderful day. God bless and peace out.
