How Good Is Your Lifestyle Compared With Mine? - My Simple Life Diary

My dad was discharged yesterday and came back home. Today, in the morning my mom saw the tracheostomy tube on the throat was pulled out. My mom woke me up and I checked if my dad could still breath through the mouth. Though I know my dad could breath on his own, I’m only afraid of the wound will get infection. So we took my dad to the hospital with my car.
Actually doctor has closed my dad’s tube with a cover. For 2 days already my dad was breathing through the mouth. Doctor said she will review my dad again next week and see how was my dad doing. But my dad already pulled out on his own. My dad will be in hospital for another night and see how is his breathing.
It’s our mistake and fault for not tying my dad’s hand. Though it may look fine from our view but for my dad, it will be very uncomfortable having the tube on his throat. My dad’s previous room was taken by another patient already and the High Dependency ward were fully occupied. No choice but to take the 4-bedded room.
I just hope my dad will feel better without the tube. My dad has been trying to pull out the tube ever since it was there. I guess that’s a jackpot for him. This time I will not be so “kind” to my dad and I will tie the hand till everything is fine. That’s all for now, peace out. May God bless my dad and you guys.

You have a compassion that’s rare in most people. If there anything we bloggers can help from our stationary chairs, I’m all ears.

Thanks swordie. What I hope now is just taking care of my dad. Will be doing acupuncture and rehabilitation for faster recovery.

Even if I remind him also, he will still pull. We have said many thousand times already. Hopefully the PEG tube is not as uncomfortable as the tracheostomy tube.
