Got Your New Astro Smart Card Yet?
Apr 12, 2008 Author: Vortrack | Filed Under: Personal | Viewed: 977I just got it today. The card looks nice with it’s gold coated colour. Below are some pictures and also a simple instruction to install it.
Here are some easier guide to replace your old card with the new one.
- Remove the old card with your decoder on.
- Insert the new card with your decoder on.
- Click OK and wait for 10 minutes or so.
- That’s all !!!
The installation part is done. Just wait for it to be in stand by mode. Then turn on your Astro.
You can find the instructions at channel 100, Astro website and also from the package as well.
You will also need to confirm that you have receive your package. Here are the ways to do so.
- Mail - Return the Postage Paid Reply slip to Astro.
- SMS - Key in NSC<space><new Smart Card No> and send to 32888.
- Online - Just click here.
Nothing new for me but they have improved the security of the card. And maybe in future there will be more updates. That’s all for now, peace out.

With the new smart card, you cannot change decoder anymore. Meaning if you have another decoder at another house, you cannot transfer your current smart card there… Don’t work for me…
Oh? Hmm, then I guess alot of ppl will sell off the second decoder?
I didnt even know about this? Must change into smart card? Yoyo… that’s mean i have to wait for the card lo… but nice gold card.. hehe..

Just did not want to pat RM50 to have an astro guy come over…
Haha good to hear that. Actually I’m having some problem with the new Smart Card.
Sometimes the decoder will hang, clock doesn’t move.
Sometimes the screen blackout when watching.
The system is still new I guess. Should be ok after a while.
